Man, 19, is stabbed to death in east London block of flats in capital’s 125th murder

A 19-year-old man has died after being stabbed in east London, according to Scotland Yard.
Police were called at 10.20pm to Ilford, after reports of a fight outside a residential block.
Officers gave first aid to the teenager, who was suffering stab injuries, until London Ambulance Service paramedics arrived, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are attempting to notify his next of kin. No arrests have been made so far.A Section 60 Order allowing officers expanded stop and search powers has been put in place for the Borough of Redbridge until 6.30am.
Police are investigating if a reported fire at a nearby set of garages is related to the stabbing.

Police are also investigating an attempted murder after another man was injured in a separate incident in Whitechapel last night.
Police were called at 10.30pm on Tuesday to London’s East End to reports of man collapsed in the street with a head injury.
Police say the 40-year-old’s injuries are suspected to be the result of a bullet wound and his condition is described as critical.
There have been no arrests and a forensic scene remains in place.
